I was wondering what are the best and worst films adaptations of sci-fi books you have seen?
I think the best is probably the rotascopic version of P.K.Dick's scanner darkly, whilst the worst has got to be... i Robot?
I say these two because I have read the source material and so can fully compare with the screen version.
A French History phd friend of mine, states that the original Planet of the Apes is the worst bastardisation of a text (I cannot comment, as I've never been able to read the oriignal translation, being mono-lingual), and a literature MA friend of mine states that the original Logan's run book is far superior to the book.
Thoughts people?
